Arie Berkulin – NL.
Corten steel

When at the age of 29, Arie Berkulin started to make his first reliefs in wood, this resulted in abstract shapes such as circles and squares. It became clear soon, however, that he felt more comfortable when working with metal. His love for this material was reflected in large size sculptures such as ‘Swing’, a 10 meter high object which is on display in Eindhoven (NL) and in smaller, more intimate works of art such as ‘ Bear’. His love for metal and abstraction can easily be recognized here.
